Cookie Policy
Last updated: 27 July 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how PortConnect ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) on portconnect.in. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, like browser local storage, work the same way but are stored differently. They let a site remember information about your visit — such as a login session or a display preference — the next time you use it.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary. Used to keep you signed in and to protect your session while using your account dashboard. Without these, features like managing your listing or saving favourites wouldn't work. These cannot be switched off, as they are essential to the site functioning.
Functional. Used to remember your light/dark theme preference and, if you're signed in, your saved (favourited) business listings, so you don't have to reselect them on every visit.
We do not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not run third-party ad networks on PortConnect.
3. Third-party resources
Some pages load resources from external services, which may set their own cookies or receive your IP address as part of a standard web request, governed by their own privacy policies rather than ours:
- Google Fonts — used to load the typefaces on this site.
- OpenStreetMap / Leaflet — used to display the interactive map on our Contact page.
We choose these services because they are widely used, reputable, and do not require us to send them any personal data beyond what's necessary to load a font file or map tile.
4. Managing cookies
Most browsers let you view, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site — like signing in or managing your listing — from working correctly. You can also clear your browser's local storage at any time to reset your saved theme or favourites.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
